'Grease' standing room tickets priced at $31.50

greaseboxoffice.jpgNow that "Grease" is out of previews, standing room tickets are on sale for the frequently sold-out musical, despite what the critics had to say about the reality-TV-cast show.

Each standing-room ticket is priced at $31.50, sold at the box office on the day of the performance as long as the show has sold out. There are 12 spots available to each show.

There's a limit of two per person, and the cash-only rule may be flexible depending on who's behind the box office window.

"Grease" has an open-ended run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, located at 256 W. 47th St. Regular tickets run from $71.50 to $251.50 for premium seats.

Elsewhere, the Newsday Theater Blog notes a change in the cheap-seats policy at "Chorus Line" -

In what would seem to be an unofficial confession that its lotto was rigged, the lottery has been removed, replaced with $35 student rush.
