Friends of High Line open OHNY tour reservations
Reservations have already opened for one of the most anticipated tours on this year's Open House New York -- but only if you're a supporter of Friends of the High Line.
The non-profit sent out an e-mail today with the details about touring the abandoned, elevated freight train tracks built in the 1920s and '30s :
On Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and 7, for the first time ever, the High Line will be open to the public as part of the annual Open House New York (OHNY) weekend. Our staff and volunteers will lead tours of the High Line's northern section, which still exists its wild, self-seeded state. A limited number of these tour slots are being held especially for High Line supporters on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning today. After these slots are filled, more spaces will be available for the general public beginning this Friday.
