Fashion Week secures Bryant Park for 2 more years
Although the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week long-term status at Bryant Park has been up in the air, the twice-yearly event has confirmed it will stay at the Midtown location for at least two more years, NY1 is reporting today.
“Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will be in Bryant Park for sure for at least the next two years, so at least four more seasons,” Fern Mallis, the senior vice president of IMG Fashion told NY1.
Fashion Week kicked off this morning, and while the tents are closed to the general public, you can at least watch the runway video online. Already posted: Nautica (which starts with a buff, shirtless dude in a bathrobe and sailor cap,) and BCBG Max Azria.
Unfortunately the Bryant Park webcam is pretty useless during Fashion Week, unless you like the backs of plain white tents.
A few tickets to fashion week shows can still be obtained through W hotels' Fashion Week packages.
After the Fashion Week tents come down, Bryant Park will start prep work for the October 26 reopening of The Pond, its free ice skating rink.
