St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton/Battery Park climb '07 T+L list
Travel + Leisure is out with its annual readers' survey of the world's best 2007 lists, and while NYC ranks as the No. 6 best city in the world, not a single one of its hotels lands on the "100 best" places to spend a night.
However, nine do make it it on the list of best hotels in the United States and Canada. Among the eyebrow-raisers: the Ritz-Carlton, Battery Park (its outdoor bar pictured at left,) zooms up to No. 39, while the Ritz-Carlton, Central Park drops to 80 from No. 39 in 2006.
The recently renovated St. Regis Hotel also made a respectable climb, to No. 22 from 66 a year ago.
The best hotels in New York City:
No. 22 (66 last year) St. Regis Hotel
No. 23 (75 last year) The Lowell
No. 39 (not ranked in '06) Ritz-Carlton, Battery Park
No. 45 (83 last year) Four Seasons Hotel
No. 63 (63 last year) Trump International Hotel & Tower
