Broadway stagehands may go on stike in fall - Post
(Editor’s note: This post is outdated. Please go to the front page of NewYorkology’s Broadway news page for the latest.)
Broadway stagehands could go on strike late this fall, the Post reports, as negotiations with producers are currently "rancorous."
From the Post: The stagehands are currently working without a contract but are unlikely to call for a strike until late fall - when Broadway's booming and the financial impact on the city would be significant.
A strike around Thanksgiving could wreak havoc with New York's economy.
In 2003, the four-day musicians' strike cost the city more than $2 million a day. (Link found via the Playgoer.)
