Three men arested in plan to blow up JFK Airport

Police said today they arrested three of four men plotting to blow up Kennedy International Airport's "terminal buildings, fuel tanks and the network of fuel pipelines that run beneath the airport complex," according to the New York Times.

A fourth suspect is being sought. The plot was still in the planning stage, police said, and no explosives have been found. Among those arrested was Russell Defreitas, a retired cargo worker at the airport. He's a Brooklyn resident and U.S. citizen from Guyana and was said to be the mastermind, according to NY1.

About 1,000 flights a day use the airport.
