MoMA to open late, add an outdoor bar for Thursdays

The Museum of Modern Art will stay open late to 9 p.m. on Thursday nights in July and August and add a bar and live music to the Sculpture Garden for the MoMA@Nite events.

The Sculpture Garden is also one of the main exhibition sites for the new work by Richard Serra, which opened to the public on Sunday. The MoMA@Nite series starts July 5 with music from violinist Jenny Scheinman. (There is no event scheduled July 12.) MoMA normally closes at 5:30 p.m., except for Fridays, when it opens for free admission from 4 to 8 p.m.

Many other museums offer late-night hours, and free admission hours as well.
