Exchange Hotel launches family sundae package

The Exchange Hotel is hosting an Ice Cream Sundae buffet (including ice cream cocktails,) on Thursday to launch its Summer of Sundaes Family Getaway package.

The summer sundae hotel package comes with a nightly pint of Baskin Robbins ice cream delivered to your room (a one-bedroom suite or deluxe double suitable for up to a family of four,) admission to the nearby South Street Seaport Museum and a $25 gift certificate to Baskin Robbins. If you arrive on a Thursday or Friday, the three-night package is $1,000 including taxes. (Extra nights are $299.)

If you book a room, you may well run into other guests there on the hotel's chocolate weekend package. (You think someone there has a sweet tooth?)

The Thursday ice cream event, which runs from 6 to 9 p.m., is open to the public. "Tickets" will be sold at the bar to participate, though the proceeds will go to a local charity.
