Tasty hotel food packages in NYC: BBQ to chocolate
You can usually count on New York's W Hotels for an in-the-know-now type of package, like its sought-after passes to the tents for Fashion Week. Currently they've got a "What’s Cookin’ Good Lookin’?" package that comes with a Bubba FastPass to the 5th Annual Big Apple Bar B Que, scheduled for June 9 and 10 at Madison Square Park. The Union Square hotel package starts at $489 and also includes a pair of cocktails.
The Bubba Fast Pass, on sale online through May 25 only, normally costs $100. It lets you skip the very long lines and lets you cash in $84 of its cost for food, drinks, merchandise and BBQ seminars.
A few other interesting food-related hotel packages are on offer this summer:
At the London NYC, you can get a picnic basket packed for you by Gordon Ramsay.
The Exchange Hotel offers a chocolate-covered weekend special that includes a walking tour of some of Manhattan’s best chocolate shops.
If you book the VIP at the Cafe Carlyle package at the Carlyle Hotel, not only do you get a candlelit dinner for two, (including an "exclusively bottled Carlyle Syrah,") but you're also assured a table near the stage and a meet-and greet with that night's performer. (Upcoming at the Cafe Carlyle: Woody Allen & the Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band, John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey, Eartha Kitt, Steve Tyrell and Judy Collins.)
The Sensory Scavenger Hunt Package at the Omni Berkshire comes with milk, cookies and popcorn with an in-room movie to follow the scavenger hunt list you get at check-in.
And at the Hotel Gansevoort, the indulgence escape package comes with chocolate body frosting (and the Sensual Traveler's Mile High Kit.)
