Jane's Carousel again making the rounds in Dumbo

janescarousel.JPG

Jane's Corousel, the restored 1922 wood-carved work of art, has reopened for the season in its Dumbo storefront - and still has high hopes that it will eventually find a home in the East River waterfront park there.

The carousel - which you can currently only look at, is open and making its rounds on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from about noon to 6 p.m. It's located at 56 Water St. in Brooklyn, map. It's free to look.

But if you want to actually ride, you'll need to go to the carousels in Central Park or Bryant Park in Manhattan, Prospect Park in Brooklyn, Corona Park or Forest Park in Queens, Willowbrook Park on Staten Island or out of the city. There's also the Totally Kid Caousel, designed by kids, in Riverbank State Park and the bug carousel at the Bronx Zoo.
