City OKs plans for 45-storyTrump SoHo Condo-Hotel
Donald Trump today received permission to move ahead with construction of a 45-story tower in SoHo to house a condo-hotel despite objections that it doesn't fit with current zoning.
Under the compromise plan, the condo units would be used as hotel rooms when the owners are gone and condo owners would not be alowed to stay more than 29 consecutive days or more than 120 total days per year, according to Crain's.
Trump SoHo will rise at 246 Spring St., satellite map.
Hurdles remain, as the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation, still hopes to find a way to stop the project, according to the Observer's The Real Estate.
