Tourists locked in Chinatown basement during raid

A dozen tourists from Spain, Georgia and Florida -- including teenage girls with their families - were locked in a Chinatown basement for more than two hours by vendors hoping to keep their buyers out of sight of cops making a counterfeit-goods bust upstairs, according to the Post.

Police seized thousands of knockoff designer bags, wallets, shirts and umbrellas from 218 Centre Street. Later they received news of a 911 call from the tourists locked in the basement - along with fake Rolex and Cartier watches.
