Andy Warhol to get statue in SoHo park

andywarhol.jackdowd.JPGA life-size statue of Andy Warhol next month will be installed in SoHo's Father Fagan Park, the Post reports.

Artist Jack Dowd said he created the bronze sculpture to mark the 20th-anniversary of Warhol's death. Warhol died Feb. 22, 1987.

The park is located on Sixth Avenue between Prince and Spring streets.

Alas, it's nowhere close to the (nondefinitive list of) locations of Warhol's Factory:

231 East 47th St., map
33 Union Square West, (site of shooting) map
19 E. 32nd and 22 E. 33rd, map
E.17th and Broadway (now the Petco buidling)

(Editor's note: Those Factory address are open to dispute. Some people don't consider them all to be on equal par as Factory locations, and one source listed the 32nd/33rd site instead as 158 Madison.)
