Open House New York has offered its first teaser for its big, free annual lookie-loo weekend in October.

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will open to the public its 12 dance studios, costume shop and library as part of the fifth annual OHNY event, this year set for October 6 and 7. In addition to getting a rare look inside, visitors will get access to dance instructors will will teach steps such as the Horton, the signature technique of Ailey, according to an OHNY e-mail sent today.

In past years, OHNY has opened up spaces such as a Rockefeller Center roof garden, the Ellis Island hospital, normally off-limits section of the United Nations and the top of the Soldier and Sailors Memorial Arch at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn.
