Open House NY sets tours of Times Square neon

timessqaureneon.jan07.JPG

Behind the scenes tours of Times Square neon lights as well as the normally off-limits spaces of the Gansevoort Market are among the projects Open House New York is setting up as part of its year-round programs for 2007.

OHNY's big event of the year -- set for October 6 and 7 -- opens up, for free, about 200 spaces normally closed to the public. But starting last year, OHNY has been adding a handful of tours during the year.

The first one for 2007 is a family program called "From Working Seaport to Living City" scheduled for March 24.

No dates have been announced for the other events, but the Times Square "Peeling Back the Neon" tour will take place sometime in April and the "Gansevoort Market in Transition" tour should be in May. In June, three tours will hit Tudor City inside and out.
