'Midsummer Night's Dream' set for Central Park

"A Midsummer Night's Dream" will play Central Park this summer as the second part of the 2007 season for Shakespeare in the Park, the Public Theater announced.

Casting has not been revealed, but it will be directed by Tony-winner Daniel Sullivan. Performances, all free, are scheduled from August 6 through September 9.

As previously announced, "Romeo and Juliet" will run the first half of the summer, from June 5 through July 8. Lauren Ambrose of HBO’s "Six Feet Under" will play Juliet to Oscar Isaac's Romeo. Camryn Manheim will play the nurse.

Also coming up this summer, City Center will expand its Encores! season, including a run of "Gypsy" with Patti Lupone, according to the New York Times. The show, which will run from July 9 through July 29, will be directed by Arthur Laurents, who wrote the book for "Gypsy."
