Sanitized, Vegas-style Coney Island coming soon

coneyislandlasvegas.JPGChange is coming to Coney Island and pain will be involved. And not the sideshow-freak sword-swallowing kind.

Not only will this be the last summer for Astroland, but the bulldozers are already at work tearing up the go-kart track and batting cages.

A check of the developer's new website confirms the worst: They'd like it to look like a Lost Wages-version of Coney Island. This summer will certainly be the last chance to see Coney Island with all its grit and character before it makes way for a parody of itself.
