JFK gets 50 free laptop, cell phone charging stations

samsungchargingstation.JPGYou'll still have to pay for your Internet connection through most of Kennedy Airport, but at least it's getting easier to charge up your laptops and cell phones -- for free -- at JFK.

Samsung has signed a promotional deal with the Port Authority, which operates the city's airports, to install 50 power pole charging stations at JFK. The eight-and-a-half foot tall stations each have four outlets. Every passenger terminal will get at least one, with terminals 1 and 8/9 already online, with the remainder by the end of this month, Port Authority spokesman Pasquale DiFulco told NewYorkology.

The power poles will be there permanently, all located past security check points. "We're looking to expand at other Port Authority facilites as well," he said.
