Framed CBGB graffiti on auction; storefront opens

cbgb.framed.JPGCBGB is back in action - at least on the retailing front.

According to the still-active website for the iconic-but-defunct music club, they've got a new storefront on St. Mark's Place - and more eBay offerings.

After selling off the club's chairs and other fixtures, CBGB is now auctioning a "framed piece of the graffiti wall from the club formerly located at 315 Bowery and signed by Hilly Kristal, owner and founder of the club." The starting bid was $99, but it's climbed to $425. The auction ends tonight.

The CBGB store is located at 19-23 St. Marks Place, map.

Need more? The Lower East Side Tenement Museum on February 1 has scheduled a panel discussion and musical event for the book "The Heebie-Jeebies at CBGB's: A Secret History of Jewish Punk" by Steven Beeber.
