L'Avion starts 'low-cost, high-frills' to Paris on Dec. 27

paryorkers.JPGStarting December 27, the newly renamed L'Avion airlines will begin flying "low-cost, high-frills" daily flights between Newark and Paris' Orly Airport for about $2,100 round trip, according to Reuters.

Apparently they're going after the unfortunately named "Paryorkers" set -- people who frequent both Paris and New York.

The airline, formerly called Elysair, started accepting reservations Friday -- in French.

A number of other lower-cost, business-class airlines entered the New York market this year, including "economy business class" MaxJet and "premium-class only" Eos Airlines which both fly between JFK and London's Stansted Airport, and SilverJet, a new low-fare, all-business-class airline that will begin service January 25 between Newark and Luton, England.
