Intrepid towed out of mud, heads down Hudson
About half a dozen tugboats successfully pulled the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum out of its muddy berth this morning, releasing the retired aircraft carrier from its berth at Pier 86. The ship will be towed down the Hudson River, pausing near Ground Zero sometime after 10 a.m. to unfurl a big American flag. After that, she'll pass the Statue of Liberty after 11 a.m. and head for a repair dock in Bayonne, New Jersey.
The whole thing could be seen via the museum's webcams.
