Bryant Park free skate, or Suits on Ice, until Jan. 15

The Pond at Bryant Park has reopened for its second year, attracting something of a locals-only crowd as the tourists are still sticking to Rockefeller Center.

macncheese.bryantpark.JPGThe Bryant Park rink is bigger, and free. Though to get the "free" you need to bring your own skates and lock for the free lockers. Otherwise skate rental costs $9.48 (including tax,) bag check is $6 and a combination lock for the lockers, (which you get to keep,) costs $9.75.

The Pond is Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight.

But if you'd rather just eat, or drink, there is again a full rink-side restaurant, this year called Celsius. It's under the direction of the Bryant Park Grill's executive chef.

There's a full bar, and a menu with the likes of mac and cheese, ($12.50,) chili, ($8,) chicken caesar salad, ($15,) Swiss cheese fondue with apples and pears, ($13.50,) chocolate fondue, ($15,) and pecan pie ($8.)

The rink operates daily, weather permitting, through January 15 when it comes down to make way for fashion.
