Robuchon's L’Atelier at Four Seasons draws 3 stars
L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, the new restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown today draws three stars from New York Times chief restaurant critic Frank Bruni, a near-miss of a perfect score owing to service and setting.
The food however, he appears to love. His recommended dishes: Sea urchin in lobster gelée; avocado with crab meat; lobster and turnip ravioli; crispy langoustine; sautéed squid; caramelized eel and foie gras; burgers; caramelized quail with foie gras; steak tartare; chocolate cake; grapefruit with mint sorbet; macaroons. L’Atelier, located at 57 E. 57th St., map, is among the handful of top-tier restaurants opening at New York City hotels.
As the Rihga Royale completes its conversion into the London/NYC hotel, Gordon Ramsay in November will open a pair of restaurants there: Gordon Ramsay at The London, and the more casual London Bar.
The Gramercy Park Hotel, recently spruced up and reopened by Ian Schrager, will be home, come November, to Alan Yau's new Park Chinois.
And in March, Alain Ducasse will open a restaurant at the St. Regis with a wine bar focused on education, according to the Hotel News Resource. The still-unnamed restaurant will occupy the old space for Lespinasse, with a new design from the Rockwell Group.
