Low-fare business-class SilverJet starts in January
Good news for high flyers. Yet another company will soon be joining that special airline club so many people want a piece of.
Business class.
SilverJet, a new low-fare, all-business-class airline, will begin service January 25 between Newark, New Jersey York and Luton, England.
To make up for the fact that Luton's isn't exactly the most convenient of the four airports serving London, SilverJet is guaranteeing 30-minute check-in at its private terminal at Luton as well as offering private chauffeur and helicopter transfers.
The company will operate two Boeing 767-200s redesigned to allow 100 flat-bed seats instead of the standard 300, according to the company. Meals can be ordered online in advance, and the planes will also feature a ladies-only restroom.
Through March, you can fly for as little as £799 roundtrip, but the standard rate after that will be set at £999.
SilverJet will be competing with not just the big guys, but also "economy business class" MaxJet and "premium-class only" Eos Airlines which both fly between JFK and London's Stansted Airport.
