Intrepid closed for repairs, Concorde seeks home
The Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum has closed its doors but its Concorde on loan from British Airways is still searching for a high profile perch somewhere in Manhattan until the renovated aircraft carrier returns in May 2008, according to the New York Times.
As both the Intrepid and Pier 86 are in need of repairs, the supersonic jet's stuck on a Hudson River barge, currently sans paddle. “I think we’re going to find a home for it and I hope it’s one of prominence,” Bill White, the president of the Intrepid museum, told the Times.
