Hayden Planetarium director takes on Nova Science

manhattanhenge.nova.JPGThe New York Times today briefly profiles Neil deGrasse Tyson, the director of the Hayden Planetarium at the the American Museum of Natural History and the new host of “Nova Science Now,” which begins its new season tonight.

Tyson, who popularized Manhattanhenge, said the show targets an audience of "blue-collar intellectuals."

If you're into that, you'll also want to know that on the third Thursday of each month, the Hayden Planetarium holds "THIS JUST IN . . . The Latest News from the Universe" where the museum's scientists discuss the ripped-from-the-headlines science news. The next events are October 17 and November 21. Advance registration is encouraged.
