$31.25 for a seat in Broadway's 'Spring Awakening'
Some people invest years of work to make it onto a Broadway stage. But for a mere $31.25, anyone can do it when the musical "Spring Awakening" starts selling tickets for seats that are actually on the stage.
Producers did the same thing when the show played Off-Broadway earlier this year. For Broadway, 25 stage seats will be available for each performance, according to Playbill.
The show, with music by pop star Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater, is a reworking of Frank Wedekind's 1891 that was banned for decades because its coming-of-age themes were thought too naughty. Check out the show's website for free ipod downloads.
"Spring Awakening" begins previews November 16 with opening night set for December 10. It has an open-ended run at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, located at 230 W. 49th St., map.
