Central Park lake adds kayaks - (you'll get wet)

kayaks.boathouse.jpg

Kayaking has come to Central Park.

kayaks.centralpark.jpgA trio of nine-foot ocean kayaks have been added to the seasonal rental offerings at the Loeb Boathouse Dock next to the Central Park Boathouse. Rental rates are $12 an hour, the same price for rowboats. Gondolas go for $60 an hour.

But while the rowboats and gondolas may be ideal for romance, kayakers should expect to get wet - the holes in the side guarantee you'll get very familiar with the water.

Boat rental runs through Thanksgiving weekend, weather permitting.
