180 free sites on board for Open House New York
Open House New York today is releasing its full list of 180 sites that will be open for free public access the weekend of October 7 and 8. Highlights include normally off-limits portions of the United Nations, a Rockefeller Center roof garden, the underground infrastructure of the Art Deco Astoria Pool, artist Tom Otterness' studio and an active archaeological dig at King Manor Museum.
Also new this year: podcasts.
Some locations will only be open one day, and several require advance reservations.
The full list will be available at OHNY's website. (Although some sites previously announced, including Ellis Island's hospital and Governors Island, aren't yet on the online list.) More highlights here:
