Great view, terrible food: Central Park Boathouse

centralparkboathouse.JPGWell of course the Central Park Boathouse has one of the best views in the city. The lake, the skyline, the gondolas, the birds, the bobbing little turtles. It's so lovely, you may not even notice the food tastes the "flavor of wet socks," the New York Times chief restaurant critic, Frank Bruni, observes in his blog for the paper.

Zagat also keeps a list of other "critic-proof" spots, including Tavern on the Green, Sardi's, Pete's Tavern, the Algonquin Hotel, Hard Rock Cafe, ESPN Zone and Jekyll & Hyde.
