Brooklyn Botanic's rose garden to reopen June 1
The cherry blossoms have all disappeared at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden but the rose garden is just a few days away from its annual debut.
June is rose month at the garden, with some of the early bloomers already making an appearance. There are more than 5,000 rose bushes at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
But until its Cranford Rose Garden opens on June 1, the small peony garden is your best bet for full blooms this spring. Mixed in with blooming irises, the peonies can be found near the rock garden.
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is located between Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Museum, map. The entrance fee is $5 for adults while kids 16 and under get in free. Admission is free on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon and all day every Tuesday.
Earlier: Cherry Blossom Festival set for April 29 and 30
