Another coveted view from Open House New York
Open House New York last night ran another tour of the almost-open 7 World Trade Center building. The unpublicized tour was offered to accommodate all the people who were wait-listed for the sold-out April 11th tour, according to Elizabeth Solomon, program manager for OHNY.
The WTC 7, the first skyscraper to be rebuilt after the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, will officially open next week. It's an office building and will be closed to the public. However, the $195-a-ticket Taste of Wall Street food festival will get you access to the 45th floor -- and lots of food.
The big weekend for Open House New York, in which nearly 200 normally closed-off spaces are open to the public for free for a weekend, is scheduled for October 7 and 8. Locations will be announced in September, but there has already been word the Ellis Island hospital will likely take part again.
