WTC agreement allows construction to proceed

Developer Larry Silverstein today said he will conditionally accept the latest proposal for rebuilding the World Trade center, the signal that will allow construction to proceed next week, according to NY1.

Silverstein, who held a new lease on the Trade Center towers when they were attacked nearly five years ago, will build three towers at Ground Zero. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will build another skyscraper and the Freedom Tower, which will become the largest building in Manhattan with its antenna at top reaching 1,776 feet into the sky.

Silverstein's rebuilt WTC 7, located immediately on the north side of the pit at Ground Zero, is set to officially reopen next month.
