EuroCheapo Guide reviews 28 Manhattan hotels

The new online EuroCheapo's Guide to NYC hotels provides reviews of 28 Manhattan lodgings slightly cheaper than the typical top-tier offerings.

Many of the hotels have rooms starting around $100, but there are also some "splurge worthy" picks, such as Morgans Hotel, with rates from $258 to $479 a night. Also included: YMCA Vanderbilt Hotel, the Chelsea Savoy, Second Home on Second and Hotel Stanford.

As Gridskipper observes, "the best thing about EuroCheapo's NYC guide is the level of detail given for properties that otherwise rate little more than a couple of lines in most guides."

The guide is limited to Manhattan and only these neighborhoods: East Village, Chelsea, Midtown east and west, Union Square, the Garment District, Greenwich Village and the Lower East Side.
