Empire State Building turns 75 on May 1

This past Sunday, the New York Times turned its City section almost entirely over to a tribute to the 75th anniversary of the Empire State Building, which will arrive May 1.

The special section includes all sorts of obscure facts, (the original Empire State building is at 640 Broadway at Bleecker,) and even dispels myths, (turns out that dropping a penny from the observation deck won't really kill a pedestrian on the sidewalk.)
