Red Hook cruise terminal pictures prohibited - guard

The Red Hook Cruise Ship Terminal is the latest location trying to prohibit photography, NewYorkology learned firsthand today while taking that absolutely mediocre picture you see above.
While standing on a sidewalk near the very end of Sullivan Street in Red Hook, this picture was taken from the public side of a chain-link fence. A minute later, a security guard approached and politely said "they" don't want pictures taken here. The conversation that followed failed to make it clear if "they" don't want pictures taken for security reasons or to hide progress at the construction site. It was also unclear whether "they" are the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey or the contractors.
"One" wouldn't be surprised if it was the anonymous project manager who oddly required anonymity from Travel Weekly in its story last week about construction at the terminal:"I realize it looks like we have a long way to go," said the project manager for Turner Construction, the company doing the renovation, who didn’t want his name used. "But we're ahead of schedule." Luckily "we" had just bought booze from nearby LeNell's (recently named the best liquor store in the city by New York magazine,) so we could come home and drink a toast to the free society.
