Meryl Streep in 'Mother Courage' dates announced

Meryl Streep will star in Bertolt Brecht's "Mother Courage" in Central Park from August 8 through September 3, the Public Theater has announced.

Staged as part of the Public's annual Shakespeare in the Park schedule, tickets to the the shows will be free on a first-come, first-served basis the day of each show. Exceptions are made for a limited number of people who donate at least $100 to the Public Theater.

The other Shakespeare in the Park show this summer will be "Macbeth," starring Liev Schreiber. It will play June 13 through July 9.
