Valentine's Day specials at New York City hotels

With Valentine's Day on the horizon, dozens of hotels are running romance specials for the little festival of love - featuring everything from champagne and roses to Twister and mile-high kits.
Prices start under $150 a night and soar as high as $850,000 for the Ritz-Carlton package, (private jet and diamond included.)
The Alex hotel stands out for its mend your broken heart package, which features tissues, chocolates, Tylenol, a mini voodoo kit, CD of love songs, "Hitch" on DVD, the self-help book "How to Heal a Broken Heart on 30 Days," and a voucher for a free drink at the bar, Riingo.
For those looking for the more traditional route, there are a number of options. Dates and restrictions differ.
Hotel Gansevoort - Twister, a book of erotic games, a bottle of Moet or Chandon, a $50 gift certificate from La Perla, the sensual traveler’s mile-high kit, a dozen red roses, pool access, chocolate fondue and marshmallows and continental breakfast at Ono. From $595.
Mandarin Oriental - champagne, berries, and breakfast. From $900.
Comfort Inn, Super 8, La Quinta, Red Roof or Ramada - Two passes to the Rockefeller Center observation deck, two free hot drinks from Dean & Deluca, and continental breakfast. Price: $169.
Hotel Roger Williams - DVD of "An Affair to Remember," a bottle of champagne, fresh strawberries. From $239.
W hotels - a bottle of champagne, a dessert sampler including Red Hots and heart-shaped cookies, romantic in-room movie and a copy of "Kiss and Tell: A Trivial Study of Smooching." From $349.
Buckingham Hotel - a suite, horse carriage ride through Central Park and a bottle of rosé champagne. Price: $299, two-night minimum.
The Shoreham - a bottle of Veuve Cliquot, Aveda massage oil, two tickets to the Museum of Sex, and turn down service with fresh strawberries, caramel and chocolate dipping and rose petals on the bed. Price: From $529.
Millenium Hilton - free in-room movie, full breakfast with mimosa. From $229 (promo code P2)
Hudson Hotel - a bottle of champagne and Godiva chocolates. Price: From $324
Westin, Times Square - "deluxe" accommodations, a $50 Victoria’s Secret gift card and a box of chocolates. From $379.

Several other hotels have romance package, available well after (and before,) the giddiness of Valentine's Day dissipates.
