'Les Misérables' to make 6-month Broadway return
"Les Misérables," which last played New York in May 2003, will return to Broadway this fall for a six-month run, according to Playbill.
The Victor Hugo-inspired musical will begin previews October 21 at the Broadhurst Theatre with opening night set for November 9. Tickets will go on sale in June.
Although casting hasn't been announced, Playbill said marquee-value names are being sought. The Cameron Mackintosh production will use the sets from the North American tour of the show, which is wrapping up its nearly 18-year run this summer.
"Les Misérables" is the third longest-running show in Broadway history, according to Playbill. In January, "Phantom of the Opera" passed "Cats" to take the No. 1 spot.
