Apparent suicide kills man at Empire State Building
A 21-year-old New York City man fell to his death from the Empire State Building on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. Police believe it was a suicide.
A security camera recorded the man around 3 p.m. buying a ticket to the 86th floor observation, but he exited an elevator on the 66th floor, entered a vacant office and jumped form a window. He landed on a sixth-floor parapet, the Post reported.
He is believed to be the 34th person to jump to his death from the skyscraper since it opened in 1931, with the most recent one in 2004, from the 86th-floor observation deck.
