$40 Valentine's reservations (meal excluded)

The special-occasion only WithoutReservations.biz went back into business yesterday, this time offering Valentine's Day dinner bookings. Each reservation costs $40; diners are on their own to take care of the food and drink tab.

Only 16 New York restaurants are on the roster this year, but none of the big new names that inspire reservation-envy for even 6:30 on a regular Tuesday night.

Among the slots available are an 8 p.m. at Tavern on the Green, 10 p.m. at Bouley, 9:45 at Café des Artistes and 6:30 at Wallsé.

Alternatively, OpenTable.com still has seats available at a number of other Manhattan restaurants - for free.
