Love Saves the Day lease extended for five years

Love Saves the Day, one of the city's best vintage toy and clothing shops, has reached an agreement with its landlord and will not shutter its doors this month.

The lease has been extended for at least five years, a store representative told NewYorkology.

Open since 1966, Love Saves the Day was going to have to leave its East Village location in January, either closing down for good or moving its massive inventory from the corner of Seventh Street and Second Avenue.

So all the little 60s-era James Bond action figures, President-Kennedy-on-the-cover Life magazines, plastic dog poop, and Star Wars toys will stay right where they are.

Love Saves the Day is located at 119 2nd Ave., map.
