$7 mln of Julia Roberts tickets grabbed up in presale

Like "The Odd Couple," Julia Roberts' Broadway debut in "Three Days of Rain" is likely to be all but sold out even before tickets go on sale to the general public, according to the Post, whose anonymous source said almost $4 million of tickets have been snapped up since Friday in a special presale deal for American Express cardholders.

Those sales come on top of $3 million of tickets sold through group sales.

When tickets go on sale for the general public, there will probably be only a few single seats available to some performances. Those tickets will be released Jan. 29, according to the Post; though Playbill has reported the date as Jan. 28.

"The show will pretty much be sold out by the time it opens," the Post's source said.

"Three Days of Rain," a Richard Greenberg drama on the themes of "love, friendship, ambition and betrayal," also features Bradley Cooper and Paul Rudd. It's directed by Joe Mantello.

Previews will begin March 28, with opening night scheduled for April 19. The short run will end June 18.

"Three Days of Rain" will play at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, located at 242 West 45th St., map.
