Hudson Valley airport changes name, seeks flights
Stewart International Airport is changing its name to the New York Hudson Valley International Airport in hopes of attracting more passengers to the location 55 miles north of New York City, Crain's reports.
The airport is served by Allegiant Air flying to Orlando only, as well as American, NorthWest and US Airways Express.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has eyed the airport, located in New Windsor, N.Y., map, as a spillover location for flights from more crowded airports, according to Crain's.
Corrected: This entry has been updated to reflect that Allegiant isn't the only airline serving the airport.
