Michelin awards four three-star ratings in New York

michelinlogo.gifPer Se, Le Bernardin, Alain Ducasse and Jean-Georges won the premier three-star rating in the Michelin first-ever guide to dining in New York City, the publisher announced this morning.

Two-star ratings go to Bouley, Daniel, Masa and Danube.

In all, 39 restaurants covering all five boroughs get stars.

The best restaurants from all five boroughs are represented, including 25 in Brooklyn -- including one-star recipients Peter Luger and Saul on Smith Street -- 13 in Queens, four in Staten Island and two in the Bronx.

"Just being included among the 500 selected restaurants, (out of the 23,000 in New York's five boroughs) is a distinction in itself," the publisher says in a statement.

The other one-star restaurants are Annisa, Aureole, Babbo, BLT Fish, Café Boulud, Café Gray, Craft, Cru, Etats-Unis, Fiamma Osteria, Fleur de Sel, Gotham Bar and Grill, Gramercy Tavern, JoJo, Jewel Bako, La Goulue, Lever House, Lo Scalco, March, Nobu, Oceana, Picholine, Scalini Fedeli, Spotted Pig, The Modern, Veritas, Vong, Wallsé and WD-50.
