Hotel Carter on Times Square, budget for a price
The Hotel Carter may be the cheapest place to stay on Times Square, but "What do you expect for $99.23 a night," the New York Times asks.

In the early 1980's, the city housed homeless families at the Carter
When it opened in 1930 as the Hotel Dixie, the Central Union Bus Terminal operated in the basement. In 1966, a 225-seat theater was added. So far, rooms on the upper floors have been renovated and the front desk is finally gettting a computer system. When that happens, rates will likely increase, the owner told the Times.
