Central Park drives open to cars through holidays

In an attempt to ease holiday traffic, the drives through Central Park will be open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from today through New Year's Day, according to NY1.

A portion of the East Drive will also remain open from 7 to 10 p.m. each week night.

Normally cars are prohibitted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Starting last week, the city put in place express lanes on some streets, which prevent drivers from making turns or changing lanes for several blocks around Midtown.
