Standing room tickets for 'Odd Couple' priced at $25

oscarscouch.JPG

The Brooks Atkinson Theatre is only days away from the first previews of the much anticipated revival of Neil Simon's comedy "The Odd Couple." You can tell it's close because Oscar Madison's well-worn sofa and chair were sitting out on 47th Street this afternoon, along with (presumably,) a more Felix Unger-appropriate dining room set.

Unfortunately those items won't stay on the curb long enough for anyone hoping for leftover tickets.

A dozen standing-room tickets will go on sale for every performance of the "The Odd Couple" on Broadway, the theater's box office representative said today.

The tickets will cost $25 each and will be sold first-come first-serve every morning when the box office opens at 10 a.m. There is a limit of two per person.

How early will the line start each day?

"They can start lining up now," the box office rep said.

The show, which is otherwise entirely sold out for its run through April 2, stars Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane, the blockbuster duo who made Mel Brooks' "The Producers" a huge hit on Broadway.

"The Odd Couple" previews begin Oct. 4.
