'Odd Couple' tix on sale to plebeians starting Tuesday
Two days before regular tickets go on sale for the Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane Broadway revival of "The Odd Couple," the New York Times confirms what NewYorkology reported three weeks ago -- nearly all the tickets to the entire run have already sold through group sales and to American Express cardholders who got early access.
"There will be limited seats scattered throughout the run, but they are expected to go quickly," Bill Evans, the show's spokesman, told the Times. Even Wednesday matinees are almost gone.
Tickets, which are already fetching more than $1,000 through ticket brokers, will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday through Ticketmaster.
Rehearsals for the show are set to begin in September, with a final performance date of April 2, 2006. Non-ticket holders, obviously, are hoping the stars will extend their contracts beyond that date.
Although standing-room policies for the show have not been announced, the Brooks Atkinson Theatre generally makes about 20 tickets available for each performance.
