Best U.S. bed and breakfast is in ... New Jersey

It turns out the country's best bed and breakfast isn't too far from New York City, according to the Best of BedandBreakfast.com Awards. But who would have thought New Jersey?

The Woolverton Inn in Stockton, N.J. was singled as the best overall. It's called an "elegant stone manor with romantic cottages, offering lavish amenities in a secluded country setting."

Other winners in the Northeast category:
1. Ostrander’s Bed and Breakfast, Canton, NY
1. Rookwood Inn, Lenox, MA
2. New London Inn, New London, NH
3. Old Judge Mansion, Troy, NY
4. Wake Robin Inn, Lakeville, CT
5. West Hill House, Warren VT
6. Berry Manor Inn, Rockland, ME
